Albuquerque Balloon Festival

Wow, what a treat this place is. I arrived on the 28th Sept and left today the weather was great , the balloons were great and all of the people we met were amazing. Julia arrived a few days later after a stressful couple of days..

So we have left now and will be spending a couple of days in New Mexico before heading back to Sedona and then on to Vegas. I’ll be posing a new video of the Balloon festival very soon.

Great to hear you two are on your travels again! I’m just out of hospital from my heart valve operation and comfortable at home, so I’m looking forward to some updates from you 🙂 Have a great Fall/Winter!, Steve

Julia attended a 2 day wedding in Florence, Italy before flying to meet Glenn in Albuquerque. It meant a very early start from this venue, closing up the house in France on her own, and catching all the connecting flights that followed. Must have boosted your Airmiles total!! Also what is the history behind the French sounding name Albuquerque?

I was indeed fortunate enough to attend a wonderful wedding in Florence before flying out here a couple of weeks ago, and despite the extra work and travelling I wouldn’t have missed it for the world! Plenty of time to catch up with sleep on those long haul flights – and snoozing in the passenger seat while Glenn trucks along 😉 Chris, you are nearly right about the French sounding name of Albuquerque – I have done some research and apparently it was Spanish explorers who first settled there, and in 1706 they were granted formal permission from the Spanish crown to name it after the Spanish Duke of Albuquerque.
